Tuned Engines from 210 to 310bhp
Entry level 210 bhp 2 litre, 165 ft lb 7,500 rpm Duratec engine. There are dozens of Raceco 210 engines powering Caterhams, Westfield and Elises. Engine consists of new base unit with minor head work, performance cams with adjustable vernier sprockets, valve spring and top collar kit, balanced and keyed crank, steel flywheel and AP Racing clutch. ARP rod and flywheel bolts, wet sump casting plus a couple of little modifications we don’t tell anybody about to make the engine more reliable. £4,495.00+VAT Raceco 220bhp 2 litre Duratec engine. The 220 engine is all the components as above plus a full cylinder head porting that is suitable for 250 bhp + engines making upgrades easier at a later date, higher spec cams and pocketed pistons. 170 ft lb, 7,500 rpm £4,995.00+VAT 2 litre with steel rods, forged pistons, 250 + bhp, 180 ft lb, 8,500 rpm £6,995.00 Raceco 250 2.3 litre engine Raceco 2.2 Projects under development. Raceco 300 bhp 10,000 rpm 2 litre. Raceco UK have built more different capacity and different specification Duratec engines than anybody else in the UK and possibly further afield. Raceco are the only engine builders to have tested 300 bhp + engines in three different capacities, 2.4, 2.3 and 2.2 at the Emerald rolling road run by Dave Walker. The Emerald rolling road is used by many Caterham owners and so it offers a direct comparison with other makes and engines from different suppliers. Nobody else has yet to test a 300 bhp 4 cylinder engine at Emerald. Please note that engines can be built to the specification the customer requires, not only to the above specifications. 26 years of building engines to the highest level means that Raceco take the guess work out of performance engine building. To see some dyno graphs of Raceco engines please go to www.dyno-plot.co.uk go to power-run graphs and type in Raceco in the search facility. Power graphs can be over-laid to compare different engine specs. You can even overlay engines form other manufacturers but to be fair only engines tested at Emerald will give a true comparison. |

Raceco design 54 mm direct to head throttle bodies. Manufactured by Jenvey exclusively for Raceco UK. These throttle bodies are the development of three different prototypes that have undergone two years of engine, flowbench and dyno testing. Out flows both our 52 mm parallel and 52 mm taper designs with the convenience of being direct to head and not requiring a separate manifold. Also out flows the roller bodies tested. They have the added bonus of being affordable as the one-off prototypes were extremely expensive to manufacture. These are an essential requirement for high output engines and work extremely well with both a well ported Focus head or big valve Focus or Ranger/Mondeo head. Don’t be fooled by engine builders that have never built a 300 bhp / 75 bhp per cylinder engine that say that these throttle bodies are too big. They are still on the small side in comparison to a World Superbike Honda or Ducati twin that run throttle bodies in the region of 60 to 65 mm per cylinder! In fact our top of the line big valve head loses 1.5 % of flow when these bodies are fitted so bigger ones may be on the ways soon! 54 mm still offers excellent driveabilty and idle. N.B. these throttle bodies will work only on a well ported or big valve head. They will be too big for a stock or badly ported head. Throttle bodies shown in photos are prototypes. Production items will be black with "O" rings at gasket face with additional bosses for top mounted throttle linkage |
